TCFWA Press Conference
From their CLC visits Carol and Mel took a quick lunch and hurriedly came to the Press Conference that we scheduled for them with Hideaki and Adam at 1:00 P.M.
Carol gave the project overview and answered questions from Ormoc media with Mel, Adam and Hideaki answering some questions directed at them.
Questions like: "Why fashion in these hard times?". The panel answered by saying why not when the fashion industry is a complete industry in itself. It creates jobs and provides livelihood to several women and men at the village level. When there's job and money-making industries, cash circulates and makes economies livelier. Besides, this is where the panel knows best and are good in. They believe they can make a difference in the lives of village people in this manner.
To the question, "Where will the garments makers get the fabric when Ormoc does not have cloth factories to speak of?", Hideaki, our celebrity fashion designer explained that to make quality garments the fabric is only secondary to the design. The design is of primary importance.
